15 TIGER TRACK TEAM MEMBERS AND COACH DENTON CHOSEN TO 2025 CLASS 2A ALL SOUTH

The Southern Illinois Coaches Association has announced its Class 2A All South Track & Field selections for 2025, recognizing nearly 150 of the region’s top high school athletes—including an impressive showing from Richland County High School (RCHS).


Boys Track & Field – 8 Tigers Honored in 10 Events

Eight Olney Tigers earned All South honors in a total of 10 events:

  • Shot Put: Casey Thomann
  • High Jump: Gavin Root
  • Long Jump: Rex Hallam, Gavyn Cothern
  • Triple Jump: Rex Hallam
  • 3200 Meter Run: Quaid Berger
  • 100 Meter Dash: Felipe Goncalves
  • 200 Meter Dash: Ian Pianfetti
  • 400 Meter Dash: Felipe Goncalves
  • 4×100 Meter Relay: Ian Pianfetti, Rex Hallam, Gavyn Cothern, Felipe Goncalves
  • 4×200 Meter Relay: Ian Pianfetti, Ryan Kirby, Gavyn Cothern, Rex Hallam

Additionally, RCHS Head Coach Ryan Denton was named All South Class 2A Coach of the Year—a well-earned honor for a season of excellence and leadership.


Girls Track & Field – 7 Lady Tigers Honored in 5 Events

Seven Olney Lady Tigers were named to the All South Team in the following events:

  • Triple Jump: Hadley Denton
  • 800 Meter Run: Mackenzi Thomas
  • 3200 Meter Run: Josie Ginder
  • 4×800 Meter Relay: Lily Stevens, Bella Stevens, Briley Kocher, Mackenzi Thomas
  • 100 Meter Hurdles: Brielle Seiler
