NEWTON
The Newton Eagles picked up an 8-4 win on the road over Dieterich. The Eagles outhit the host Movin’ Maroons, 7 to 6, and improved to 8-8 on the season.

  • Winning Pitcher: Gavin Meinhart earned the win on the mound for Newton.
  • Top Offensive Performers:
    • Quincy Fulton led the Eagles with three hits, a walk, one RBI, and three runs scored.
    • Drake Wolf, Logan Ochs, and Jackson James each added key RBI hits.
    • David Ferguson contributed a hit and scored two runs.

Newton is scheduled to host Mt. Carmel on Thursday.


OLNEY
The Richland County Tigers dropped a tough road game at Effingham, falling 11-7 to the Hearts. The Tigers were outhit, 11 to 7, and now sit at 5-8 overall.

    • Cooper Hires added two hits, one RBI, and scored two runs.
    • Mattie Sanders knocked in two runs with a single.
