The Newton Eagles came up short in a 3-1 loss to South Central in non-conference action, despite outhitting the Cougars 7 to 3.
Eagle Highlights:
- Gavin Meinhart led the offense with 2 hits and Newton’s only RBI.
- Quincy Fulton doubled and scored a run.
- David Ferguson also added a double.
- Additional hits came from Reed Tharp, Maddox Horner, and Dexter Fulton.
The Eagles (13-9) are scheduled for a home doubleheader tomorrow against Robinson and St. Anthony, weather permitting.
