(CHAMPAIGN) The Illinois State Water Survey at the University of Illinois in Champaign reports the latest weather numbers for the month of April. The average temperature in Illinois was 54 degrees, just over 1 degree above the 1991 to 2020 normal for April, making last month the 32nd warmest April on record statewide. The statewide precipitation in April was 5.12 inches, nearly nine tenths (0.88) of an inch above normal, making it the 25th wettest April on record statewide. However, with nearly ten and half inches (10.48) of rain at the WVLN-WSEI weather station last month, it was one of the wettest Aprils on record.
