(OLNEY/NEWTON) in High School Football –
after some scrimmage games from over the weekend
Olney & Newton are ready to open up their 2025 season this weekend
while the Tigers open up at home with Taylorville this Friday night at 7:00
the Eagles are also at home Friday night at 7:00 with Bethalto Civic Memorial
all but one of the other six LIC teams are in non-conference action Friday night
that’s Casey-Westfield, Robinson, Marshall, Mt. Carmel, and Paris
Lawrenceville is on the road to play Saturday afternoon

(OLNEY) in Junior High Softball from Saturday –
the Middle School Lady Cubs dropped two games at the Casey Round Robin event
Olney lost to the host Lady Braves, 12-3
then the Lady Cubs lost to South Central, 11-1
Olney’s top hitters on the day were
Allyson Wright had 2 hits, 2 stolen bases, and 1 RBI
Karleigh Westall had 2 hits, a walk, and 2 runs scored
Alayna Dowds singled and scored a run
Brynn Dixon had a hit and Khloe Cales had a sacrifice and 1 RBI
in the other game played
South Central slipped by Casey-Westfield, 1-0
the Lady Cubs are scheduled to host Flora today at Musgrove Park

BASEBALL
Robinson Nuttall beat Paris Mayo, 11-1
Flora beat North Clay, 11-6
South Central beat North Clay, 3-2
Teutopolis beat St. Joseph-Ogden, 3-2
Pleasant Plains beat Teutopolis, 5-2
SOFTBALL
Altamont beat Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 13-1

(FLORA) in Girls High School Tennis from Saturday –
Flora won their five team tournament at Frog Island
the Wolfgals easily beat out second place Mattoon, 119 to 72
Herrin was third at 71, followed by Marion at 64 and Benton at 24

(FLORA) in Boys High School Golf from last Friday –
Altamont beat Flora with a tiebreaker after a tie score at 186 apiece
Cisne and North Clay had individual players, but not enough for teams

(FLORA) in Girls High School Golf from last Friday –
Flora won a four team match
North Clay and Altamont did not have enough players for a team
