Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul has joined a coalition of 18 attorneys general urging international auto racing organizations to prohibit sponsorships tied to tobacco and nicotine products and end existing agreements involving those products.

In a letter to FIA and Formula One leadership, Raoul and the coalition pointed to nicotine pouch advertising associated with Formula One teams and events, including products promoted by major tobacco companies.

A new report finds Illinois ranks 17th nationwide for home insurance rates, with premiums rising 68% since 2020. According to LendingTree’s 2026 State of Home Insurance Report, Illinois homeowners pay an average of $2,731 per year, about 14% higher than the national average of $2,395.

The Illinois General Assembly recently approved House Bill 4273, which would regulate property insurance.
