(BLOOMINGTON/NORMAL) The Illinois High School Association, along with Illinois State University & others, have announced that a five-year contract extension has been reached to keep the IHSA Girls Basketball State Finals in Normal at the CEFCU Arena on the ISU campus through the 2029 state tournament. After the inaugural IHSA Girls Basketball State Finals in 1977 was held at the old Horton Fieldhouse on the ISU campus, the tournament then moved to Champaign for a little over a decade, before it returned to Illinois State University in 1992, where it has remained ever since.
