(SPRINGFIELD) In yesterday’s Illinois Ag Prices Report for March : Agricultural Production increased 1.5% from February, but decreased 4.8% from March 2023 : the Crop Production Index was down 1.2% from February and down 16% from the previous year : the Livestock Production Index increased 2.3% from February and was up 4.7% from March last year : producers received higher prices during March for cattle, hogs, & broilers, but lower prices for market eggs, strawberries, & wheat. There was also increased monthly movement in March for cattle, milk, and calves, but decreased marketing of soybeans and apples.
