(CHICAGO) The fourth day of jury selection was yesterday in the corruption trial of former Illinois House Speaker & State Democratic Party Chair Michael Madigan. Madigan faces 23 counts of bribery, racketeering, and official misconduct.

(SPRINGFIELD) Postal workers rallied across Illinois this past Monday, demanding safety protections and increased wages. The rally came as incidents of letter carriers being beaten, robbed, and killed are increasing, with only about 10% of the more than 2,000 attacks nationwide since 2020 have been prosecuted. The Protect Our Letter Carriers Act, if approved, would increase funding for more postal inspectors and resources to prosecute crimes against postal workers in Illinois and across the United States.

(ST. LOUIS) A bridge connecting Illinois and Missouri has been closed due to a raging fire nearby. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge that carries Interstate 70 over the Mississippi River will be closed for up to two days due to a fire at a vacant warehouse. The fire was causing a large amount of smoke hanging over nearby roads, resulting in potentially dangerous driving conditions.
