(EFFINGHAM) The Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate a two unit fatal crash that occurred at approximately 5:30 this past Wednesday evening at an intersection of two county roads in Shelby County, northeast of Strasburg. As a result, all three occupants in a side-by-side UTV that was hit by a grain-hauling semi-truck have died as a result of their injuries. While one was pronounced deceased at the scene, the other two passed away after transported to two seperate hospitals. The 14 year old girls, incoming freshmen in the Stewardson-Strasburg School District, have been identified as Karly M. Wetherell of Stewardson, Edie J. Wittenberg of Strasburg, and Sienna R. Bostedo of Mode. Out of respect for the victims & families the Strasburg Homecoming events are cancelled for tomorrow.
