LOCAL LIBRARIES AWARDED FUNDS FROM SECRETARY OF STATE

(OLNEY/NEWTON) Secretary of State and State Librarian Alexi Giannoulias has awarded over $1.3 million to 2,484 Illinois public school libraries around the state with the money based on a statutory formula, per student, per school district in Illinois. While the Richland County School District will receive $1,774, the Jasper County School District will get $935. Nearly all other area downstate school district will receive respective funds as well. With the annual funds to support K-12 students, resources and services provided through the grant include library books, e-books, audiobooks, periodicals, technology, and much more.
