(BLOOMINGTON) Illinois farmland values softened during the first half of this year and are expected to remain steady or decline modestly through the end of the year. That’s according to a mid-year survey by the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ISPFMRA). Survey respondents estimated declines from January 1st to July 1st were 2.2% for excellent quality farmland, 3.5% for good & average farmland, and 3% for fair quality farmland, plus nearly a third of respondents indicated no change in prices during the same period. Most respondents expect farmland prices to either remain stable or decline slightly in the second half of this year. Learn more on the ISPFMRA website.
