(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office has announced that it made a record $1.57 billion in investment earnings from the state investment portfolio during fiscal year 2025. An additional $998 million was made in gross investment earnings for municipalities and school districts throughout the state as well.

(SPRINGFIELD) State and local officials yesterday cut the ribbon on a new solar-powered manufacturing facility in Jefferson County. The parent company, Manner Polymers, received state tax credits for the electric vehicle and solar panel component building in Mt. Vernon. The company’s incentive package also included $2.5 million for a new rail spur.

(SPRINGFIELD) IDOT, the Illinois State Police, and local law enforcement agencies all around the state are reminding the public about the national and statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” safety campaign, which will include saturation patrols, roadside safety checks, and more today through next Tuesday. They’ll be out in extra force looking for those driving impaired by either alcohol and/or drugs, plus those who are speeding, those not buckled up, and those driving while texting or talking on their mobile devices.

(DU QUOIN) The 2025 Du Quoin State Fair is continuing with the fairground hours each day and night from 8:00 to 12 midnight, plus free admission for all ages, but there is a fee to park. Today is Illinois Tourism Day featuring the Made in Illinois Expo, Ponytail & Pigtail Contest, Smile Contest, & country musician Jake Owens on stage at 7:30 tonight. Tomorrow is Coal Heritage Day & SIU Day with livestock shows, Heavy Horses Pull, Lego Contest, the afternoon USAC Silver Crown Auto Racing, a nighttime Demo Derby, and on stage Tucker Wetmore Saturday night. Sunday is First Responder Day with more livestock shows, Pedal Pull competition, Duck Derby Race, Pro Wrestling, and ARCA Super Series Auto Racing. Then Monday, the final day of the fair, will feature a Washer Tournament, Pro Wrestling, a Cornhole Tournament, and country singer Gabby Barrett on stage Monday night at 7:30.
