(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board of Education met in special session last night in Olney. After hearing from three local men, sharing their concerns to the Board about its action last month in regards to awarding the District’s bank bid, the Board then agreed to rescind the action taken May 27th, 2025 during a special Board meeting, to approve Midland States Bank as the banking institution for the District, and therefore return to status quo so that the present instituion remains TrustBank, unless and until such additional action is taken. The School Board then agreed to rebid the bank bids for Fiscal Years 2026 and 2027. The Board’s next regular monthly meeting will be Thursday, June 26th, at RCHS, at 6:00.
