RICHLAND COUNTY SPRING RAINFALL TOTALS

(OLNEY) The Richland County Farm Bureau has started its planting season rainfall reports for spring 2024. With the reporting period ending at 8:00 this past Monday morning, the county’s highest total was 1.20 inches in Noble Township, followed closely by 1.10 inches in Denver Township and 1.00 inch even in Claremont Township. Then it was Decker Township at nine-tenths (0.90), followed by a second Claremont Township site at seven-tenths (0.70) and both Bonpas and German Townships at sixth-tenths (0.60). There were three sites that had a half inch (0.50) of rain over the past week, Olney and Preston Townships, along with the Farm Bureau Office in Olney. The County’s lowest amount of rainfall recorded was in Madison Township at three-tenths (0.30). Here at the WSEI National Weather Service weather station, we recorded just over seven-tenths (0.72) of an inch of rain since a week ago Monday. Our April precipitation total was one of the wettest on record, at 8.21 inches.
