THURSDAY WEATHER DISCUSSION (02/22/2024)

(OLNEY/NEWTON) As a stalled out frontal boundary hanging over central Illinois starts to move again this morning, our cloudy sky could become wet with scattered rain and maybe a thunderstorm or two. But the rain chances will not last long as the front quickly moves through by this evening, bringing with it a wind direction change from south/southwest to northwest. However, the front will stall out for another dry and mild day tomorrow, but then the weather system will eventually push off to the southeast, bringing with this time some light rain or flurrie chances Friday night. We’ll dry out and turn cooler on Saturday before we warm back up quickly on Sunday and into the first of next week. Stay tuned for weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more forecast details.
