TUESDAY WEATHER DISCUSSION (07/09/2024)

(OLNEY/NEWTON) As the tropical depression Beryl, formerly a hurricane, moves up thru the Mississippi River Valley today, it’s expected to drop anywhere from two to four inches of rain, including more or less here in our downstate area of southeastern & south central Illinois. But as the weather system moves out of the state by mid-morning tomorrow, our sky will gradually clear with some sunshine by Wednesday afternoon, followed by dry and sunny conditions for the rest of the work week and into the weekend. The National Weather Service had a Flood Watch in effect for all of our listening area today through the day tomorrow, so be alert to flooded low lying areas and remember to not drive on flooded roadways. Stay tuned for updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for details.
