(NEWTON) The Scott Avenue Christian Church in Newton will host a Community Thanksgiving Service this coming Sunday evening, starting at 6:00. Those attending are then encouraged to linger afterwards for fellowship. If possible, bring a dessert to share.
(OLNEY) It’s another Walk With A Doc coming up this Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00. All ages are invited to walk along the Carle Trail on the north side of the Olney City Park.
(OLNEY) The Olney Firefighter’s Association (OFA) will host a fundraising breakfast tomorrow morning at the Olney Fire Station, at 501 North Walnut Street, north of the Courthouse in Olney, with serving from 6:00 until 11:00, or until sold out. With the menu of pancakes, sausage, biscuits, and gravy, donations will be accepted at the door. Carry outs and phone in orders, at 618-392-6341, will be available. Proceeds go to assist the OAF with its support of the Olney Fire Department and for the Association’s Scholarship program.
(PARKERSBURG) The Walnut Grove Church, three (3) miles east of Parkersburg, will have its annual Benefit Breakfast fundraiser this Saturday morning, with serving from 6:30 to 10:30, with a great menu available, plus carry outs. It’s by donation only at the door. All proceeds will be used to help local families during Christmas-time. All are invited out.
(NEWTON) It’s another Queen of Hearts drawing this Friday night at 6:30 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton, with tickets on sale up until draw time, and a jackpot at $23,800. The Queen’s Menu includes your choice, meatloaf dinner or breaded shrimp dinner, each with two sides, and each at $12 per person, with serving at 5:00. That’s this Friday night, either dine in or carry out, at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton. All are invited.
