(OLNEY) The Olney VFW will have its next Queen of Hearts drawing, all open to the public, at 4:00 this Sunday afternoon. The jackpot is now up to $11,284 if the winner is present, and remember, the drawing is live-streamed on the VFW Post page on Facebook. Tickets are on sale right up until draw time at 4:00 Sunday, with the VFW Post doors opening at 1:00.
(OLNEY) It’s the best chicken dinner you can find coming up this Sunday in the Olney City Park as the Olney Center Shriners will have their annual fundraising fire cooked chicken dinners available, with serving from 10:30 to 2:00, or until sold out. The $12 per person meal includes half a chicken with baked beans, cole slaw, a drink, and a cookie. It’s first come, first serve, by drive through only. All proceeds to assist local children & Shriners’ Hospitals.
(DIETERICH) It’s the first of four weekends of the Corn Maze & Harvest Festival at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, along the blacktop, 3 miles north of Dieterich or 3.5 miles south of Montrose, coming up this weekend. With admission into the Corn Maze at $5 per person, free for children ages 5 and younger, it’s this Friday night from 6:00 to midnight, Saturday from 11:00 to 10:00, and Sunday from 11:00 to 5:00. Bring your own flashlights for an evening visit to the 24-acre maze, plus concessions, a train ride, corn pit, several games, and more.
(OLNEY) It’s the 50th Annual Fall Festival of Arts & Crafts coming up this Saturday, rain or shine, from 9:00 to 4:00, in the Olney City Park. With all types of homemade arts and crafts on display with over 70 vendors, half of which are new to the event this year, there will also be plenty of concessions with 18 booths, featuring classic food like pork burgers and shake ups, plus many new items this year, including hand pies, smoked ribs, crab rangoons, and more. There will be plenty of activities for the children like balloon art, face painting, fire truck rides, and more, plus live music at The Bandshell from 8:30 to 4:00 nonstop. The Olney Arts Council is asking for a $2 per person donation at the gate, which will be used to help fund the OAC’s grass roots & scholarship programs within Richland County Schools.
(PARKERSBURG) The “Haunted Cruise-In” that was scheduled for this Saturday night has now been postponed for two weeks and is now set for Saturday, October 12th, from 5:00 to 9:00 that night at 111 South Elm Street in Parkersburg. Same activities are planned.
(NEWTON) It’s another Queen of Hearts drawing this Friday night at 6:30 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton, with tickets on sale up until draw time, and a jackpot at $17,430. The Queen’s Menu includes all-you-can-eat ham & beans with cornbread & salad bar at $10 per person & serving at 5:00. That’s Friday night at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton.
(WAYNE CITY) The 2024 Wayne City Bean Days celebration is this week down in western Wayne County. It includes a 5K Foam Run/Walk this evening at 6:00, starting at the Wayne City High School parking lot, followed by the Bean Days Townwide Block Party at 7:00 tonight. The Bean Days’ Tractor Show is tomorrow morning from 7:00 to 9:00 with the first 25 tractors to get dash plaques (call Sue at 618-237-2212), plus the popular parade at 10:00 Saturday morning. With plenty of concessions and more throughout the day, Saturday wraps up with the T&A Bucking Bulls Rodeo at the Wayne City Saddle Club at 7:00.

(OLNEY) The City of Olney is announcing that the 2024 Splash Pad is being closed for the season today, on this Friday. The Splash Pad will reopen for the 2025 season on May 24th.
